Ready, Set, Robotics!

Questions & Answers

What is Ready, Set, Robotics!?

Ready, Set, Robotics! is a company that designs simple, affordable robotics games for schools and other educational settings. We provide the rules, materials, and tools you need to run a competitive robotics experience without the cost of a traditional league.

Who are the games for?

Educators of all kinds — classroom teachers, robotics club leaders, camp staff, homeschool co-ops, and library or makerspace programs. Our games are designed so you can run them even without a robotics background.

Do students need robotics experience?

No. Our games welcome first-timers while still offering plenty of challenge for experienced students. Difficulty can be adjusted based on your time, materials, and students' skill levels.

What robots do we need?

You can use the robots and platforms you already have — VEX, LEGO, Arduino-based kits, and other classroom systems all work, as long as they can move and interact with the game pieces. We don't sell robots.

How is this more affordable than traditional competitions?

Traditional robotics competitions often charge steep registration and membership fees on top of equipment costs. Our games skip those fees entirely — you buy the game materials once and run it as many times as you like, building the field from classroom supplies or affordable pieces.

Do I need a special field or expensive equipment?

No. Each game is designed to be built from common classroom materials, with printable setup instructions. Some games offer optional physical kits or 3D-printable files if you'd like more polished pieces, but they're never required.

What games are available right now?

Our first game is Cup Conquest, a middle school robotics tournament. You can find it on the Games page. We're actively working on more games for different grade levels and formats.

Is there a tool for keeping score?

Yes — some games include an optional digital Scorekeeper for live scoring, rankings, and playoff brackets. Printable score sheets are always available too, so the digital tool is never required.

How do I get started or suggest a new game?

Head to the Games page to explore what's available, or reach out through the Contact page with questions, feedback, or ideas for games you'd like to see. We'd love to hear from you.
